Saturday in the Park

The NWFAA is once again proud to support the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida with a solar star gaze at their annual Saturday in the Park celebration.

The public is invited to join us as we set up telescopes with filters to allow safe viewing of the Sun.
White light as well as Hydrogen-alpha filters will allow the observer to view not only sunspots (if there are any) but solar flares and prominences (if there are any).

Astronomical viewing requires clear skies. Make sure to check this page or the NWFAA Facebook page to make sure our participation has not been cancelled. Most of the other activities are not as affected by the weather and we encourage you to participate in all the other activities even if we cannot set up the telescopes.
